About Omega Gamma

The Omega Gamma chapter of Theta Tau was colonized on November 8, 2008 and established officially on July 24, 2010. Ever since, we have evolved and have become proud representatives of the engineering community at FIU.

We love our community. Our chapter is very involved with Habitat for Humanity, Adopt the Highway, Relay for Life, and more.

We are professionals. We host professional development events every semester covering multiple topics including but not limited to: resume-building, public speaking, professional writing, study abroad, LinkedIn, internship searches, and more! We also prepare ourselves to attend career fairs at FIU and across the nation, some of which include BEYA, HENAC, SHPE, and SWE.

We are brothers. We form bonds that last a lifetime and are always there for each other. Brothers of Omega Gamma are known for being the kindest gentlemen and gentlewomen out there and we have a strong school spirit!

Rushing generally begins on the second week of every semester. Look out for our flyers, e-mails, website updates, and tables at the Engineering Center and MMC.

Rushing is a simple process where we want to see you at our events to get to know you. Attending our events regularly and making a positive impression will result in you being given a bid, in order to pledge for our fraternity. This process is a lot easier than it sounds and we promise you we are friendly and eager to get to know you!

Currently, the only GPA requirement to receive a bid is to have above a 2.0 college GPA.

In order to become a brother of Theta Tau, you have to be able to be an active brother for at least one semester after being initiated. In other words, you must be in school as a brother at least one semester after pledging. If this is not possible for you, then it may be too late.

Of course! Believe me, a lot of us were once extremely shy or anti-social before becoming a part of Theta Tau. We are very friendly and excited to meet you so long as you come to our rush events, be yourself, and be positive!

Though the term pledging generally has a negative connotation of hazing and unpleasantness associated with it, we guarantee you this is not the case with Theta Tau. We have zero tolerance for hazing of any kind and as a professional organization, we will never support any negative behavior from our brothers. Though all pledging processes are different, you should expect to have a very busy semester filled with professional tasks and social events to bond with your pledge class and our brothers.

Yes. Pledging costs $225 in total, though it can be broken down into a payment plan to accommodate your financial situation. Brothers also pay semesterly dues that vary, but are similar to those paid while pledging.

Absolutely! We are a professional co-ed engineering fraternity with multiple female members. We encourage every engineering major to join and become a part of our family.
